Diane Swonk is the chief economist at Mesirow Financial. She is a wife, mother, author, regular CNBC guest, and is frequently cited in The Wall Street Journal.
A Michigan native, Swonk grew up in suburban Detroit and attended the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, where she earned B.S. and M.S. degrees with honors. From there, she went on the the University of Chicago to earn her M.B.A.
She is the author of The Passionate Economist: Finding the Power and Humanity Behind the Numbers.
